Skin death is called necrosis. The method of handling necrosis depends on the situation. It's important to ask surgeons about complication management during consultations.

Kiresis is a fish skin graft used at MCS. The fish skin is processed and sterile, with the genetic material removed. Fish skin can be used to treat skin necrosis after cosmetic procedures like breast augmentation, facelifts, and tummy tucks. Fish skin can be used as a temporary dressing to cover the affected area while new skin grows. The dermal side of the fish skin faces down when applied to the wound bed. Fish skin is typically left in place for a few days to a week. Fish skin should only be used under the guidance of a certified healthcare professional. Patients may need to avoid exposure to water or other sources of contamination while the fish skin is in place to prevent infection.
