Are saline or silicone breast implants safer?

Neither saline nor silicone implants are inherently safer than the other. Saline implant leaks are easier to detect long-term, as the body absorbs the leaked saline. Silicone implant leaks are not immediately noticeable and may require MRIs for monitoring. Leaking silicone implants should be replaced, as they can cause capsular contracture. What are teardrop breast implants?

Teardrop implants have more volume on the bottom than on the top. All teardrop implants are textured to prevent rotation. Texturing can, in rare cases, be associated with ALCL (a rare type of lymphoma). Natrelle's textured implants were taken off the market. The practice doesn't use teardrop implants very much anymore because they have to be textured.
