What are the pros and cons of breast implants versus fat grafting?
Dr. Tsai explains that implants are strong and sturdy, maintaining their size over time and providing strong structure to the breast shape. However, they are man-made and non-biological, which can cause reactions. Fat grafting uses your own tissue, so there is no reaction, and the results are permanent and softer. However, it requires a significant amount of donor fat, 20-40% of transferred fat will not survive, the final breast size is unpredictable, it doesn't provide the same support as implants, and may not achieve the same fullness or roundness. Fat transfer can only increase breast size by about one to one and a half cup sizes.

Butt implants are made of firmer, textured silicone with grooves on the outside to help them stay in place. Breast implants have a smooth surface and are designed to be slick and mobile. Both are made of silicone, which most closely resembles the feeling of our own tissues.
