Questions, Answers, and Information Directly from Dr. Margo Weishar

Sourced directly from Dr. Margo Weishar's social posts and replies.

How does the Excel V laser work and what does it target?
The Excel V laser operates by bypassing the skin to specifically target red vessels.
How can I tell if my Botox treatment was done correctly?
There are two primary ways: first, if you look better, natural, and improved; and second, if the Botox lasts.
Can you tell how many Botox units are in a syringe by looking?
No, it's a trick question. You cannot determine the number of Botox units in a syringe or compare quantities between syringes by visual inspection alone. The doctor mixes Botox, which comes in a jar, with fluid to get the right amount in their syringe.
How long should Botox last, and what if it wears off quickly?
Properly administered Botox should last approximately four months. If too few units are administered, your Botox might look good for a couple of months but will wear off very quickly.
Does Dr. Weishar recommend shaving with soap?
No, Dr. Weishar advises against shaving legs with only soap, as certain components in soap can be too irritating for the skin and should not get into your skin while shaving.
What kind of hat does Dr. Weishar recommend for sun protection?
Dr. Weishar advises against baseball caps for sun protection, as they only shield the eyes and allow sun exposure from the sides. For outdoor sun protection, she recommends wearing a hat with a brim.
What are Dr. Weishar's recommendations for sun protection while swimming?
Dr. Weishar would never go swimming without covering her shoulders, recommending a swim shirt or rash guard to prevent sunburn.
Does Dr. Weishar recommend using a 10x magnification mirror?
Dr. Weishar strongly advises against looking at oneself in a 10x magnification mirror, as no one else will look at you that closely, and minor skin issues visible only at that magnification are not noticed by others.
What are the benefits of a Vampire PRP facial (microneedling with PRP)?
The Vampire PRP facial, also known as microneedling with PRP, helps to build collagen and elastin and address signs of aging.
What is 'prejuvenation'?
Prejuvenation involves being proactive about your skin and trying to prevent those early signs of aging.
What is preventative Botox and how does it work?
Preventative Botox is a method used for prejuvenation, helping to relax muscles and alleviate lines that start to etch in, commonly around the forehead, between the brows, and around the eyes. When administered in small doses to patients seeing early signs of aging, it results in a beautiful, natural outcome and prevents lines from becoming permanently etched.
Who is an ideal candidate for preventative Botox?
Preventative Botox is a perfect treatment for individuals just starting to see signs of aging, such as more movement or early etched-in lines.
What causes fine lines and wrinkles?
Fine lines and wrinkles are the result of ongoing use and expression. Increased muscle movement and creasing cause skin breakdown, leading to fine lines that deepen over time.
How is pain managed during PicoGenesis laser tattoo removal?
Lidocaine is injected prior to PicoGenesis laser tattoo removal treatment to provide comfort throughout the duration of the treatment.
