Approach

• Nowadays we do cataract surgery when the patient isn't seeing the way they want and the vision qualifies them from an insurance point of view, you don't have to wait until you can't see anything before you have your surgery

Technique

• Once we remove the lens it cannot grow back, however, there is a little membrane that supports the lens that can get cloudy and we can laser that in the office and some people call that a secondary cataract

Technology

• Now the laser automatically centers, tracks your eye movements, and even uses your iris landmarks as a reference

Recovery guidance

• So the typical recovery for cataract surgery is actually pretty quick, most people see pretty well within a few days after surgery, some people see well right away, some people it takes a few days, but overall they get to their regular activity within a day or two after surgery
• Typically the day after LASIK you're seeing close to, if not, 20-20, so you are free to drive the very next day

Safety

• Dr. Lauren D. Mileo's practice recommends that patients remove their contact lenses for two weeks before their LASIK measurements.
