What is the typical recovery and incision care for an upper eyelid lift (blepharoplasty)?
Recovery from eyelid surgery generally takes 1-2 weeks. The incision for an upper eyelid lift is hidden along the crease and is often not visible from a normal viewing distance even one week post-op. Sutures are removed one week post-surgery. Initially, the incision area may look a bit full, but this will settle down and the incision is expected to disappear as it continues to heal. Patients should plan to wear sunglasses to cover the stitches during the initial recovery. Most patients look good at 2 weeks post-op and great at 3 weeks post-op, with excellent results expected.

CO2 laser is one of the most powerful skin-resurfacing treatments available, targeting fine lines, wrinkles, sun damage, age spots, acne scars, uneven texture, and overall skin tone and firmness. It can be used as a non-surgical option for concerns like neck bands and crow's feet. During treatment, pain can be around a 7 out of 10. Post-treatment, initial redness, swelling, sensitivity, and warmth (like a sunburn) are expected. Red marks, lines, and striations from the laser will be visible. Peeling typically starts shortly after day one and continues for about five days as old skin sheds. Discomfort diminishes as peeling subsides, revealing smoother, rejuvenated-looking skin. Patients can expect concerns like neck bands ('lifelines') to be eliminated.
