Approach

• I mean, people are using too much of it, bringing that hollow, not to where it should be, not to what I call sea level, but way above to hide that height of the hill
• I haven't given up on filler in my practice because of that. I still think it has a role because the alternatives are also not perfect
• The other thing that I hear a lot about is migration. Does filler migrate? Does it change position after it's been placed? I think, honestly, that's overstated
• In my opinion, it's what I said before. It's overfilling its fluid retention

Technique

• Newer products on the market or newer techniques on the market, still using our own tissue like PRF or platelet-rich fibrin, also allow us to try to add volume into the under eye
• We can do surgery where we take the excess fat or the hill and we move that fat into the hollow below. And it's a wonderful procedure. It's something I do several times every week and the results can be beautiful
• We do this through another set of injections with something called an enzyme called hyaluronidase, which breaks down that hyaluronic acid and allows our body to reabsorb it and get rid of it

Consultation

• So if someone comes into me and they say, I don't like the way things are looking, I want to get rid of this filler. That's an easy decision. We can dissolve that away

Safety

• The downside is that they're not super efficient at doing it, while the upside is that the risk is much lower than let's say injecting fat

Results

• He created a naturally youthful appearance that left our patient looking as good as she feels!
• And when done well and done appropriately, the results can be very nice, natural, long lasting
