Frenulum release is a surgical procedure that involves detaching the penis from the sidewall of the body where it is attached. While it may create the *appearance* of an additional half an inch or slightly more in length, it does not actually increase the physical length of the penis. Dr. Zimmerman does not recommend this procedure due to significant risks: it can alter the angle of the penis, making it more prone to injury during sexual activity, and the incision is located very close to critical blood supply and nerves. A highly skilled surgeon is required to avoid interfering with sensation or blood supply.
