Approach
- We are proud to take care of patients with ear anomalies including microtia and atresia
- The practice is committed to helping patients regardless of how long they have been living with facial paralysis.
- With plastic surgery in men, we take special measures to make sure the nature and character of the eyes doesn’t change
- As a direct result of their multidisciplinary center, the NYU Multidisciplinary Microtia and Atresia Center is able to implant a hearing aid during the second stage of surgery, thereby avoiding a third surgery.
Specialization
- Specializes in Facial Nerve
Technique
- The NYU Multidisciplinary Microtia and Atresia Center performs a two-stage autologous rib reconstruction for patients with microtia.
- After implanting the carved rib, the NYU Multidisciplinary Microtia and Atresia Center performs a second stage three to six months later to raise the ear and create the space or sulcus behind it.
- In the first stage of the reconstruction, the NYU Multidisciplinary Microtia and Atresia Center harvests a rib from the child's chest and hand-carves it into the shape of the ear to best match the opposite normal ear.
Training & credentials
- Dr. Danielle Eytan, MD, is an Associate Professor of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at NYU Langone Health and co-leads the NYU Multidisciplinary Microtia and Atresia Team.

Industry Payments
Federal law (the Physician Payments Sunshine Act) requires drug and medical-device companies to report anything of value they give to a physician — consulting and speaking fees, research funding, travel, royalties, and even meals. Medicare publishes all of it in a public database called Open Payments. We show it here so you don't have to go looking for it.
Total received (2025)
$19
Payments
1
Compared to peers
Small
Dr. Danielle Eytan received $19 across 1 payment in 2025. That is in the lower half for physicians here — totals this size are typically meals at sponsored talks. Most of it was categorised as food and beverage, and the largest single payer was AXOGEN.
What this means for your care
- A disclosed payment is a business relationship, not evidence of wrongdoing, and it says nothing on its own about the quality of your care.
- Most payments are small. Across the physicians listed on NavMDs, the single most common category is food and beverage at industry-sponsored talks.
- Larger consulting, speaking or royalty payments mean an ongoing financial relationship with a company whose products your doctor may use or recommend. That is worth knowing about, and it is reasonable to ask about.
- A fair question to ask: “Do you have a financial relationship with the maker of the implant, filler or device you're recommending — and what alternatives did you consider?”
