I had a breast lift, implant exchange, liposuction and facial fat transfer with Dr West. Before surgery, I explained that I wanted my breasts to remain the same size or slightly larger. When I could see the results, I was horrified. My breasts appeared smaller, my nipples were uneven, and I experienced nipple infections. After liposuction, I noticed dents, uneven contours and diminished curves around my hips and buttocks. My thighs and flanks showed less change than I expected. I also experienced infection and nodules following facial fat transfer, and infection and drainage after chin and neck treatment. Antibiotics were prescribed, but I remained concerned about recurring facial symptoms and did not feel my questions were fully addressed. Dr West recommended additional procedures, including another implant exchange at my expense, a facelift, a tummy tuck and further thigh liposuction. I ultimately went to another surgeon for a capsulectomy, another breast lift, correction of my uneven nipples and larger implants to achieve the size I originally wanted. Obtaining the records and photographs I requested has been lengthy and frustrating. I am still seeking surgical markings, consents, procedure details and before and after photographs to help other doctors evaluate my ongoing concerns. I also need clarification about differences in the operative reports I received. I found his bedside manner dismissive and did not feel heard during follow up discussions. My refund requests were denied. This experience has involved additional surgery, recovery and expense, and has affected my confidence and trust. I would not choose him again.
