Questions, Answers, and Information Directly from Dr. Casey Anderson

Sourced directly from Dr. Casey Anderson's social posts and replies.

What are the benefits of Galaflex?
Galaflex adds instant support and shape to thin or weakened tissues. It also helps skin regenerate and rebuild new collagen and elastin, making it stronger than before. It integrates into the patient's own tissue, resulting in an extremely low infection rate. After surgery, the mesh is not visible or felt under the skin.
How long should I avoid sitting directly after a BBL?
The minimum time to avoid sitting directly after a BBL is 10 days.
When should breast implants be changed?
Implants should only need to be changed if you’re experiencing issues with them, or want to upgrade or downsize.
What are the key steps for administering Semaglutide?
Semaglutide medication is shipped with an ice pack in a blue bag and needs to be refrigerated. Use an insulin syringe for injections, cleaning the vial port with an alcohol pad before injection. Invert the vial to draw the medication, remove air bubbles from the syringe, and inject into the abdomen, back of the arms, or thighs. Semaglutide injections do not typically require a band-aid and cause minimal pain.
What should I know about Semaglutide side effects and results?
Nausea and vomiting are normal side effects of Semaglutide. Results vary from patient to patient, and it works at different paces for different people.
What are the key facts about capsular contracture?
Everyone with implants develops a capsule of scar tissue around them. Capsular contracture is when the scar tissue around an implant becomes very thick. It develops over months or years, usually in the first couple of years after surgery, but can happen later. Thickened scar tissue can change the shape of the breast and the attachments to the overlying breast tissue, and can be painful.
What are the treatment options for capsular contracture?
The best treatment for capsular contracture is to remove the capsule. After capsule removal, options include new implants, an implant holiday, or fat grafting. The choice of treatment depends on the case. After capsule removal, healthy tissue can heal to healthy tissue.
How can tattoos affect breast implants and capsular contracture?
Getting a tattoo near the implant doesn’t directly correlate the risk of developing Capsular Contracture, but there is a possibility that getting a tattoo can introduce skin bacteria into the breast tissue. If that leads to an infection of the breast, that could theoretically increase the risk of capsular contracture. It is recommended to research your tattoo artist thoroughly and wait one year after implant-based surgery to get a tattoo.
