What are milia?
Milia are small, white bumps on the face, also referred to as milk spots. They can appear on the forehead, cheeks, nose, chin, and near the eyelids. Milia occurs when dead skin cells and natural oils become trapped in the skin’s pores. Genetics, improper skin exfoliation, and excessive sun exposure can also cause milia. Makeup and/or skincare products that are not suitable for their skin type can also cause milia. People with normal to oily skin are more prone to milia from skincare products, which can block pores, leading to keratin bumps under the skin. Preventing milia involves proper skincare, including regular exfoliation (2-3x a week) and choosing non-comedogenic and suitable cosmetic products for your skin type. If you have milia, change your skincare routine.
What is the Cutera laser used for?
The Cutera Excel V laser is a state-of-the-art vascular laser that uses a high-power green laser to target abnormal blood vessels and pigment in the skin. It treats facial redness, sun spots, sun damaged skin, rosacea, acne, wrinkles, and spider veins.
