What is a 'FUPA' and how is it addressed?
Plastic surgeons don't typically use the term 'FUPA,' which stands for fat in the upper pelvic area, medically called the mons. Fat collection in the mons area covers the pelvic bone. Fat in the mons area can be removed via liposuction or surgically excised, and the skin can be lifted. The doctor includes liposuction of the mons area in every tummy tuck to achieve a flat appearance.

What is recovery like after microneedling?
Immediately after microneedling, skin feels tight and hot and appears red. Two weeks after, skin feels less dull, shiny, and smooth. Focus on hydration and non-irritating products during recovery. Avene Cyclophate is recommended for restoring the skin barrier and hydration.

What is Galaflex mesh and when is it used in breast lifts?
Galaflex mesh is an internal bra that dissolves in about 18 months, after which collagen ingrowth occurs. It helps give support to the tissue and has been preventative for capsular contraction. It's considered when a lift is performed and the patient wants a larger size but lacks good skin support. Internal support with Galaflex is used only when needed, and the decision to use mesh is discussed in about 50% of breast lift cases. Lower blepharoplasty removes skin and fat and can be performed under local or general anesthesia.
