What should I know about scar healing?
A scar takes about six weeks to fully heal to its maximal tensile strength and about a year to fully mature. The skin surrounding a healing scar should be supple and lubricated. Scar gel, scar cream, or moisturizer is recommended. Massaging a scar and using scar gel or scar cream can soften scars for up to a year after it heals.

Anyone with breast tissue needs to be screened for breast cancer, regardless of gender identity. A physical exam should be performed every year. If a lump or bump is noticed after top surgery, a breast surgeon should be consulted, and an ultrasound would likely be prompted. After a real mastectomy, mammograms are no longer needed.
